1. The matter is adjourned by three weeks. In the meantime, the Ministry of Environment and the State shall file affidavits informing the Court with regard to the availability of Khair trees to the industry from plantations keeping in mind the principle of sustainable development.

2. The Central Government should file its report within three weeks. List thereafter.
3. It is stated by Mr. K.N. Raval, learned Additional Solicitor General that under a scheme called the Samanvit Gram Vanikaran Samriddhi Yojana, there are about 200 village committees which have been set up and the affectation is going to take place during this season. Union of India should submit a progress report within four months. List thereafter.
4. The Advocate General states that no orders need be passed in this application in view of the subsequent development. IA is disposed of and consigned to the record.
5. Pursuant to the order dated 9th May, 2000, we are informed by the learned Advocate General that 50 per cent of the sale proceeds amounting to about 8 crores have been deposited in a separate bank account. The Central Government shall within two weeks file an application alongwith a comprehensive scheme with regard to reforestation and the utilisation of the said money. To come up after three weeks.
